I am the first person of all my LJ friends to mention this today. I could easily go through the whole day without even thinking about it, which is so incredibly strange to me. For some completely unrelated reason, I was thinking about my first daycare job at Apple Academy. The most bizarre job I have ever had, where I was given no training and people just. didn't. talk. to me. I am not kidding about this - the other teachers and employees didn't or wouldn't talk to me. Ever. I got there in the morning and just spent the whole day trying to figure out what to do, without any sort of direction.

Anyway, to explain how bad it was ... I didn't even know what had happened on 9.11.01 until 2:30 IN THE AFTERNOON. Nobody once thought to even say, "Hey Katie, did you hear about that awful thing that happened today?" Though I knew something was going on because of all the whispering.

I did a little research and realize I wrote about most of this last year. And everything in that post is still true today, even down to the bathroom remodel not being finished (though there are no longer holes in the wall, and the end is in sight).
