Fixing fuzzi bunz was SO EASY.

So about a zillion months ago, I started looking into solutions for fixing the elastic on Rosemary's fuzzi bunz. And then, because it didn't seem that easy, I just bought a few new ones (she needed a new size anyway) and then put it on the back-est burner around. The one so back there that I didn't think about it much. Finally, I decided it had to be done and I pulled out all the sewing supplies, then looked on the internet for some directions. Well, I found some fantastic directions (I'd give a link, but none of you would be able to see it due to friends locks, etc.) that didn't involve any seam-ripping or machine sewing. The first diaper took about 10-minutes and each consecutive diaper has taken less than 5 minutes to fix. It's so easy it's fun ... considering I really thought this was going to be a daunting task.

If any of you want/need to know how to do it, let me know and I'll work on finding you a link you can see (I believe it's posted on a couple different websites).

Not a whole lot happened this weekend. I can't decide if I'm fighting a little bug or if I'm just not getting enough sleep. I think Rosemary is cutting a molar and it is making us all miserable. I've been sleeping deep sleeps, but they're fitful and full of weird dreams. Plus I'm often interrupted by Rosemary in the middle of the night. Joel has been the main runner to her, and I think he's annoyed by it, but I don't feel bad because I think he's too quick to run to her. She's usually 3/4 asleep anyway and through experience if we just let her fuss for 5-10 minutes, she can sometimes settle herself. It's just that she does it over and over again through the night. Still, I think it's okay to leave her because she's not overly distressed and she doesn't want anything else. It doesn't comfort her any more to go and pick her up, and of course we make sure she's not too hot/cold, that her diaper is dry, etc. We'll also offer her a bottle (1 ounce milk, 4 ounces water) in case her mouth is dry. She drinks over 11 ounces before going to bed, plus we give her a snack, so I know she's not really hungry.

Speaking of all that drinking, I think we're going to have to go back to disposables at night. I HATE them with a passion. They're so SMELLY and rough, but the alternative seems to be to change her in the middle of the night and/or have her wake up soaked.

Do any of you cloth diaper-ers have a solution other than fuzzi bunz with a doubler? I may consider investing into a different style, but I haven't like Happy Heiny's for night-time and I just don't really like the bumgenius (though I haven't tried the 2.0).

I think with baby #2 (thinking of the future people), I might try some fitteds. I'm scared to try wool (even though I wonder if that's the answer to our nighttime problem) because my mom and I are allergic to wool, so it seems likely Rosemary will be too? It's so expensive that I am really hesitant to just give it a chance.

I am selling some cloth diapers. I have 4 BumGenius 1.0s for sale and a medium turtle print Happy Heiny. They're in pretty good used condition. There is some pilling and normal wear on the velcro. If any of you are interested, let me know.

In which I whine about diapers.

I am not sewing savvy. I wish I was ... someday I will learn. But I don't want to practice with my diapers. The small child's medium fuzzi bunz are awfully stretched out. She went from having ginormously chubby thighs to having very thin thighs and now the elastic is too stretched out. I asked [info]kikifitz's mom to fix them for me, but she can't until the end of June (of all the nerve, her son is getting married this month and she's busy.

I'll wait if I have to, but does anyone else have any ideas where I could take these to be fixed? Is that the best option or should I try a different size/kind of diaper. Does anybody buy diapers that are stretched out? I'm a little afraid we'll have to use disposables if I can't figure something else out. :-(

Expensive diapers.

I just kind of splurged and bought Rosemary the following diapers for her birthday. With summer on its way, I think it will be nice to have some cute diapers. And I'm super excited about the new fuzzi bunz designs! There are going to be 4, the first is released today. And that little puppy dog ... soo cute (and expensive, but it's for her birthday.
