Wow. This weekend went by fast. Want to know what I did?
Thursday while I was at work, I got the Worst Stomach Ache Ever. It was so bad that I went to a conference room and laid face down on the table for about a half hour. It felt better, so I got up and it was immediately back. It hurt so bad I could hardly talk, so I sent my boss an email, went home, and took a bath. The long bath made it feel better and I decided I was hungry for pancakes. Joel was home and we went to pick Rosemary up from June’s house, then went to Keys Café for dinner. Thus began the weekend where I didn’t just fall off the dieting wagon; I took a giant leaping run off the wagon.
Friday I had the day off for Good Friday. Joel didn’t have the day off, so Rosemary and I hung out at home. We basically had a pajama day since it was snowing outside and I was trying not to be crabby from the snow. Eventually I got us all dressed and we walked down the street to the Holiday gas station, just for something to do. It was kind of fun to walk in the snow. She took a good nap and I got some of the house cleaned and worked a little bit on her scrapbook. When Joel got home, I insisted that we get our snow gear on and go make a snowman. We tried, but the snow was too powdery. So we walked down to the park and ran around, tried to make snow angels, etc.
Saturday There was so much snow that shoveling was inevitable. It didn’t take Joel long with the snow blower, and I stayed inside and worked on cleaning the bathroom, dining room, and kitchen floors. Then we went to Home Depot to look at floor samples. Got some samples that I liked OK, but nothing that I am in love with. We are going to look into Cork Floors. Everyone tells us they are great, but we are getting conflicting answers about whether or not they’re cheap or expensive. Rosemary took a long nap and afterwards we went to SuperTarget to get groceries and other sundry items.
Then we went to my mom’s house to celebrate Easter and that was a lot of fun. My mom made a great dinner, the Easter Bunny had made a visit and we all had baskets to find. Rosemary found hers first (the Easter Bunny didn’t hide it too hard). Gray and Rosemary had a lot of fun playing together, and after dinner we all went outside to make a snow bunny. You can see a picture of the snow bunny here. I highly recommend you take a look. It was a lot of fun, and I was really impressed by how much Rosemary wanted to help. She was real focused the whole time and kept patting more snow onto him. Super cute. I have more pictures that I’ll have to upload to flickr soon.
Sunday we went to the First Covenant Church. Rosemary did not do well in the nursery, which was a little disappointing. But she did do well in the service with us, so that was good. It really helps that they have a rack of “Busy Bags” in the back that has crayons, books, etc. to keep kids busy. I thought the service was a really nice celebration of Easter. Afterwards we went straight home (despite the fact that they had 600 eggs hidden in the cafeteria downstairs for kids to find!), had a light lunch and put Rosemary down for a nap. We had to wake her up after 1.5 hours to go to Joel’s parents house. There we had a really good dinner, lots of candy, pie, etc. All the kids played really well and Rosemary kept herself quite entertained even though all the cousins present were much older than her. The older cousins hid eggs and they were trying to help Rosemary find one (it was “hidden” right in the middle of the hallway). She had absolutely no interest in finding it, but was so excited by the fact that ALL of her cousins were following HER around. She is really starting to like the spotlight, which is a turn-around for her and proof for me that “attachment parenting” really does work.
When we got home, we were all exhausted. We ate a light dinner while watching America’s Funniest Home Videos. We then gave Rosemary a bath, and blew bubbles until it was time to go to bed. The child is obsessed with bubbles. After she went to sleep, Joel and I watched Emma on Masterpiece Theater. We stayed up much later than I should have, and I was really, really tired this morning.
I’ve had some coffee and now I’m waiting for it to kick in.

Here’s a really cute picture of Rosemary and Gray from Saturday night:
We've gotten a lot of snow the last couple of days. I want to cry about it, but I decided that we need to make lemonade out of it. Last night we got all bundled up to make a snowman, but then we couldn't even really get a base going because the snow was too powdery. It's pretty good weather for a snowman right now, but Rosemary is napping and we have errands to run when she wakes up. We are going to my mom's for dinner (to celebrate Easter) and my mom thinks we should all make a snowbunny. Maybe we will! We shall see.
I made some easter eggs and I have pictures here and here.
