Little Rosemary seems to have caught a cold. She had a runny nose yesterday, but her spirits were just fine, so we decided it was OK to go to my mom's house. She loves that little cow costume - a complete turn-around from the first couple of times I attempted to put it on her.
She was so. incredibly. happy all night. She was running all over the place and just generally excited. We only went trick or treating to a couple of houses (of people we knew). I didn't even think I'd get her to look at the person in the door, but she was running up to doors saying, "trick or treat!" She wasn't scared of a thing, not one costume, not one ghoulish decoration. Though, I made sure to not actually point out scary costumes or decorations. I would rather avoid that stuff altogether. Why even introduce fear into your spirit, you know?
We saw
kikifitz, and her husband and son. Saw her whole family, really. Rosemary and Kiki's niece Brooke were quite taken with each other. It was pretty cute. I think we got some good pictures. But our pictures were all taken with our friend Tommy's camera. We're having camera problems - so I'm going to have to wait until Tommy sends me the pictures.
Last night little Rosemary got more stuffed up. :-( She slept about 3.5 hours and then woke up really plugged up. She wasn't happy and kept crying, "All done! All done!" We tried to hold her, but the dear child does not like to be held when she wants to be sleeping. Finally Joel remembered we had a product called "Little Noses." We snorted some of that into her nose and it did clear her up. All in all she was awake nearly two hours, but then she slept another 4 hours. I prayed that she would get a good nap at her Nana's today. Other than being really plugged up, she seems really happy.
I know I'm one of those really pathetic, doting parents. But I love that girl so much. I am so proud of her and that pride just grows and grows. She is so sweet and happy. She has changed so much from that little girl who cried all the time (whom I still loved just as much as I do now). I am so glad that I didn't just leave her to cry in her crib, that I held her as much as she wanted to be held, that I kept her close to me despite my complete and utter exhaustion. She is turning into such a smart, confident little girl, and I have to think that we've done something right.
